Mr. Welty,

I have to confess that I often disagree with the stand you take on various issues, but I happen to agree with your thoughts on closing a high school in Duluth. I think that you will find several of the
faculty members here at East High agree with me on this.

It seems to me that closing several elementary schools will drive even more Duluth families to seek alternatives in education while there are not the same alternative options available for students in 10-12.

Theoretically, the net result of closing a high school should not be as damaging to our total school enrollment as closing 5 elemetaries will undoubtedly be.

Also a question - I'm hearing that 90 students from Duluth attend school at Wrenshal. That being the case, trying to woo them back to Duluth Schools ought to be a priority.
